New Museum to Be Launched in Oni
At the briefing, held prior to the Government meeting on May 23, the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze stated that a new local museum is to be built in the town of Oni, Racha.
The Head of the Government focused on the importance of the development of the rural areas across the country and noted that providing appropriate infrastructure is vital in this case.
“Regional development is a major priority for us. It is the only way to achieve inclusive growth in Georgia. To ensure equal development in the regions of the country, it is important to put in place relevant infrastructure in each of them,” stated Bakhtadze.
The PM also accentuated the significance of the tourism industry for the general progress of Georgia.
“Tourism is the best sector for inclusive growth. We are developing relevant infrastructure in our mountain areas. This very goal is served by the Georgian Government’s decision to build a local museum in Oni,” he said.
The new multifunctional museum in Oni is planned to integrate a conference hall, an archive, a library, a multimedia library, as well as an educational space for minors.

Museum of Broken Relationships Comes to Tbilisi
From April 11 to June 15, the Betlemi 10 exhibition hall is hosting the Museum of Broken Relationships which was first launched in Zagreb, Croatia, in 2006.
The concept of the museum is to bring together items connected to previous relationships in one space, including clothes, accessories, and photo and video sources. The visitors of the Museum of Broken Relationships also have an opportunity to share their stories with others.
The unique collection of the museum aims to provoke feelings of understanding among individuals and serve as some kind of therapy for those who have experience break-ups.
For the three months, Georgian visitors will have a chance to discover the exhibits of the global collection of the museum and add their personal items to it.

Opening ceremony of Georgian Fine Arts Museum
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze attended the opening ceremony of Georgian Fine Arts Museum and addressed the gathered community.
According to Kakha Kaladze, the City Hall will always support similar projects.
“As the mayor of the capital, I would like to once more reiterate, that the capital of any European country would dream of such space and the environment. Younger generations will also be able to develop and I am really happy in this regard. I would like to thank to Gia Jokhtaberidze and his family for everything, “said Kakha Kaladze.
The private collection of the museum founders, Gia Jokhtaberidze and Manana Shevardnadze’s family paintings were exhibited in the museum, which has been composed of 3500 paintings of 80 artists since 1945.
Exhibition space is relevant to modern standards. Gradually, new paintings will be added to the museum and besides permanent exposition, temporary exhibitions will be arranged as well.
The event was attended by members of the Government of Georgia, representatives of diplomatic corps, artists and representatives of world leading museums.
